There are many other areas to visit in Southeast Alaska from Juneau, however as there is not a road system in the panhandle you must either travel via air service or boat to get to many of these places. At the northern end of the panhandle Haines and Skagway are the two exceptions as they are connected to the road system by traveling through Canada, and are also connected to ferry service which runs through the region on the Alaska Marine Highway System (AMHS).
During my travels I was able to visit Tracy Arm, Hoonah, Sitka, Skagway as well as taking the AMHS ferry Malaspina through Southeast Alaska and Canada to Bellingham. Each of these have their own culture and history which make them unique destinations.
